About the Author 

Chip LoCoco was born and raised in New Orleans. He is an attorney, with an emphasis on estate planning. A lifelong lover of music, Chip’s passion for opera dates back many years now. He has seen operas all over the world at some of the greatest opera houses. Chip has been asked to give talks on opera as well as the Sicilian-American culture of New Orleans.

Chip’s second novel, Bellafortuna, has been named a Short List Finalist in the William Faulkner Writing Competition. A date for publication has not been set yet for his second novel.

Chip is married to his wife of 15 years, Wendy. They have two children, Matthew and Ellie and a beagle, named Scout. They reside in their beloved city of New Orleans, where if you try to find them on a Sunday in the Fall, they will be somewhere rooting on their Saints.

We all have dreams, and while people might tell us that some of them are bigger than others, the truth is everyone's dream is big in their perspective. This, of course, includes the main character of LoCoco's book Tempestra's Dream. 

From an early age, Giovanni Tempestra has wanted to be an Opera singer, a man of the stage winning love from the people for his passionate singing. This dream however has fallen by the wayside with his father's death and the realization that his family needed money more than they needed to send him off for a musical education. At the tender age of twenty-five, everything seems bleak.... that is until he meets Isabella Monterone. The daughter of a powerful  judge, Miss Monterone is possibly the most beautiful person Giovanni has ever set eyes on. Sadly, her father seems bound and determined to keep them apart since he's deemed the younger man a nobody.

Now Giovanni has a new goal, to be come an opera singer for his beloved. The question remains how to do so without money and rejection by every singing master in Milan. Upon discovering the Casa di Riposo, Giovanni discovers he might just have a break he needs to gain access into the world of opera and win his fair maiden's hand.

LoCoco's writing is fantastic, a dreamy setting drawing the reader through each of the chapters as though he's writing an opera of sorts. Deliciously flowing paragraphs grip readers in their allure, leaving you clinging to the feeling of what the world sees for him.

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys music, opera, the life of any performing artist, or just generally wants something good to read.
